Honorable Dan Bahadur Chaudhary (Kurmi), the Minister appointed for Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare in the present government on September 2011 is undertaking the responsibility to lead the official course of action of Social Welfare Council as a Chairperson since his appointment. He was born on 6 November 1957 at Pakadi VDC -1 in Kapilbastu district which lies in Western Region of Nepal. Hon’ble Minister did his Intermediate degree in Political Science. Having keen interest in politics, his political journey began since 1981. He was succeeded to become VDC President of Pakadiya, Kapilbastu for 4 times in his life which was honor for the important efforts contributed by him. He was elected as a Parliament Member in 1999 from Nepal Communist Party. In efforts to contribute Madhesh Movement, he joined "Terai Madhesh Democratic Party-Nepal (TMDP-N)" in 2008 and elected as a Constituent Assembly Member. Presently, he has been leading the party as a General Secretary. Likewise, he also served as State Minister for Ministry of Industry during the former Prime Minister Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal’s Cabinet. He has significantly participated in different seminars and visits made across the world in Indonesia, Switzerland, Thailand, France and India.
