Dr. Chhewang N. Lama (Sherpa) the Member-Secretary was born in 1964 in Junbesi Beni-7 in Solukhumbu. He had accomplished his Phd. in Natural Resource Management & Environmental Science from The Australian National University, Australia, & M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management & Sustainable Agriculture (MNRSA) from the University of Norway, Norway.

He had got numerous scholarships in pursuing higher degrees NORAD fellowship for M.Sc. course from the government of Norway, AUSAID scholarship from the Australian government and TCS Colombo Plan Scholarship from the government of India as well. Dr. Sherpa has more than twenty years of working experience in the Government, Semi-Govt and academic institutions.

He also served as South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP) / United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Focal Point on behalf of the Environment Ministry, Nepal. He's completed an investigation on various subject matters in collaboration with different NGOs/INGOs as an consultant and also engaged as a visiting Fellow in in-country and overseas universities. He is honored by the most respectable award 'Nepal Biddhyabhusan First Class First' and so on.

It is noteworthy to assert his participation in innumerable seminars, workshops, trainings and has gained immense knowledge and experience during official & personal visit to different countries across Nepal. He has visited more than 15 countries including India, Srilanka, China, Thailand, Japan, United States, Philippines, Hong Kong and Bhutan etc.
He is also highly regarded as a Member Advisor for the most renown organizations of Nepal.
